There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate broker- integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how we work.
That said, in 29+ years as a real estate professional, things have changed dramatically. In the "old days" of real estate there was no such thing as a fax machine. Today "technology” is king. If you’re not internet savvy, you're doing your clients a huge disservice.
We are listing broker. Although we do occasionally help buyers but our main role at Realty Connection/The Velasco Group are lisitngs. Most realtors have a niche where they excel. Our niche is a listing brokerage. We keep updated on all sales trends in the East Valley of Arizona. Our marketing tools are state of the art and Karen Hewitt/Broker is a born negotiator, which are all things that you need in your listing brokerage. Doesn't it make sense to work with a company who specializes in one area of town and one area of real estate?

In keeping with the new wave of real estate I have attained the following: CSSR (CERTIFIED SHORT SALE NEGOTIATOR) designation, CDPE (CERTIFIED DISTRESSED PROPERTIES EXPERT). I did my first Short Sale in 1995 so when our market crashed, Short sales were already a part of my resume. As I've always done, I find where I could get the best education; pick the brains of the best people in the industry and started doing Short Sales.
It just makes good business sense.
